Nicosia inaugurates first phase of Creative District redevelopment

Cypriot Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou inaugurated Phase A1 of the 'Creative District Redevelopment' project in Nicosia. The initiative focuses on the city's walled historic center and aims to integrate architectural heritage with contemporary business and innovation. By restoring historic buildings, the project seeks to attract creative professionals and small enterprises, creating a new urban ecosystem. Minister Ioannou stated that the project is a central component of the Ministry's sustainable urban development strategy. In addition to building restoration, the project includes upgrades to public spaces and improvements in sustainable mobility. The project was implemented with financial support from the European Union. The goal of this regeneration strategy is to make the city center more functional and accessible to the public.
