Overview of cultural events in Cyprus for summer 2024
Cyprus is hosting a series of theatrical, musical, and cinematic events throughout the summer months. The 29th International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama features the National Theatre of Northern Greece's production of Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, directed by Asterios Peltekis, at the Ancient Theatre of Kourion. The Cyprus Theatre Organisation (THOC) is touring Euripides’ Ion, directed by Thomas Moschopoulos, with performances in Nicosia, Larnaca, and Kourion. Other notable productions include Molière’s The Would-Be Gentleman, directed by Achilleas Grammatikopoulos, and Ray Cooney’s comedy Out of Order. Musical events include the Amalgamation choir performing in Limassol and the Gipsy Kings Way concert. Additionally, the Fengaros Music Village is scheduled to take place in Latsia from July 16 to 21. Several cinemas across Nicosia are screening international films, while various art exhibitions are held in Nicosia and Limassol through late summer.
