Princess Leonor completes paratrooper training in Spain

Princess Leonor of Spain, the heir to the throne and daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, has successfully completed basic paratrooper training. The 20-year-old princess performed several jumps, including a night jump in May, at the Military Parachuting School in Murcia alongside 50 other cadets. This achievement earned her the Cazador Paracaidista badge. Her training is part of the final year of her officer curriculum at the General Academy of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AGA). Prior to her current placement in the Air Force, which began last September, Leonor attended the Army Academy in Zaragoza at age 17 and completed a multi-month training mission with the Navy. Upon ascending the throne, she is slated to become the Commander-in-Chief of the Spanish Armed Forces. Military sources describe her as disciplined and physically fit.
