Cyprus police identify 48 high-risk road accident locations
The Cyprus Police have mapped 48 locations across the national road network identified as high-risk for traffic accidents. This classification is based on data analysis from 2023 to 2025 regarding the frequency of fatal, serious, and minor collisions. The provincial breakdown of these hazardous spots includes 19 in Nicosia, 14 in Larnaca, eight in Limassol, five in Paphos, and two in Famagusta. Among the identified locations in Nicosia are the intersection of Stasandrou, Pindarou, and Androkleous streets, as well as the junction of Athalassas Avenue and Petrou Iliadi Street. Other spots include the junction of Salaminos, Stasinou, and Makariou III Avenues, and the stretch of Kennedy Avenue between Orameniou and Zappeiou streets. Authorities state that these areas are being prioritized for road safety improvements and preventative measures. The initiative aims to reduce the frequency of collisions at these specific points by monitoring and taking relevant protective actions for road users.
