Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center opens new cyclotron unit for PET/CT imaging
On June 2, 2026, the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center held a blessing ceremony for its newly constructed building housing a cyclotron unit. This infrastructure enables the local production of radiopharmaceuticals required for PET/CT diagnostic imaging. The PET/CT system combines Positron Emission Tomography with CT scanning to provide high-precision metabolic and anatomical diagnostic data for cancer treatment. The ceremony was attended by the center’s chairman Christos M. Triantafyllides, members of the Board of Trustees, the General Director, medical staff, and patient advocacy representatives. The center stated that hosting the cyclotron unit on-site improves the speed and diagnostic quality for patients. This development marks a significant upgrade in the center's clinical infrastructure. The move aims to facilitate more comprehensive case evaluations by the medical team.
