Air Astana launches direct flights between Kazakhstan and Cyprus

Air Astana has commenced a new direct flight route connecting Astana to Larnaca, operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Starting June 4, the airline will expand its service to include flights between Almaty and Larnaca, scheduled for Thursdays and Sundays. These routes are operated using Airbus A321LR aircraft and are expected to continue at least until September. The flight duration is approximately five hours and 40 minutes from Astana and six hours and five minutes from Almaty. The inaugural flight facilitated the first official visit by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides to Kazakhstan, accompanied by government ministers. Hermes Airports welcomed the new connection as a strategy to boost tourism and strengthen bilateral relations. Passengers on the inaugural flight were provided with gift boxes containing local products and souvenirs. This initiative aims to improve air connectivity for Cyprus through links with two major Kazakh cities.
