Small elementary school in Kampos achieves educational recognition
The elementary school in Kampos, Cyprus, currently serves two students, Panagiotis and Dimitra, under the guidance of teacher and headmistress Christiana Christoforou. Over the past seven years, Christoforou has implemented a strategy to overcome the school's geographical isolation by establishing collaborations with scientists, experts, and other educational institutions. This initiative aims to provide students with experiential learning opportunities they would otherwise lack due to their remote location. In February 2025, the school participated in a robotics competition in Limassol. The school's outreach efforts have recently gained attention, resulting in an interaction with an Austrian astronaut. Approximately 100 students have expressed interest in participating in shared activities with the school's two pupils. The school continues to function as an open educational environment despite its small student population.
