Police investigation concludes the Sante case is fabricated
The Chief of Cyprus Police, Themistos Arnaoutis, announced on Thursday that the extensive investigation into the so-called Sante case has concluded that all evidence, including a 14-page document, messages, and audio clips, was fake and fabricated. The two-month inquiry, which involved the assistance of the FBI and Europol, found no evidence to substantiate the serious criminal allegations leveled against several individuals by journalist Makarios Drousiotis. Specific claims regarding eavesdropping at the Legal Service and meetings with the Attorney General were formally rejected. Police confirmed that audio involving Giorgos Mylonakis was also proven to be manufactured without his knowledge. Following these findings, authorities have issued instructions to investigate potential offenses related to the creation and dissemination of this false information online. The investigation aimed to address the accusations that emerged before the legislative elections. This concludes the formal probe into the claims that had previously received significant public and media attention.
