Platania campsite closes for scheduled upgrades

The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announced on June 3, 2026, that the Platania campsite has suspended its operations. The closure is intended to facilitate planned upgrades at the site. All owners of caravans and other temporary structures have been instructed to remove their property and transfer it to private locations. As of June 3, 2026, the main entrance and emergency gates of the campsite are locked. Access to the area is now strictly limited to those removing caravans. To gain entry, owners must first notify the Platania Forest Station. The department has issued a formal apology for the inconvenience caused and requested public cooperation during this period.
