Limassol EOA to inspect unauthorized construction in Trozena
The Limassol District Organization (EOA) is planning an upcoming inspection in the village of Trozena to verify compliance with an order to halt unauthorized construction works. The site, located within the environmentally sensitive Natura 2000 area, is undergoing development by an investor. President of the EOA Limassol, Yiannis Tsouloftas, confirmed that inspections revealed works were being conducted without the necessary planning permits. On May 25, 2026, the EOA issued a formal letter requiring the immediate suspension of all construction activities lacking valid building permits. Officials have granted a short grace period before conducting a follow-up visit to ensure full compliance. In addition to stopping the current works, the EOA, in agreement with the Department of Environment, has requested that project architects submit a comprehensive master plan. This plan is required to assess the development as a whole, rather than in parts, and will serve as the basis for reviewing all future permit applications for the project.
