Ergin Ataman protests officiating after Panathinaikos loss to Olympiacos

Olympiacos defeated Panathinaikos 82-76 in the first final of the Stoiximan GBL. Following the match, Panathinaikos coach Ergin Ataman expressed strong dissatisfaction with the officiating. He specifically criticized the free-throw disparity, noting that Olympiacos took 29 free throws compared to 5 for his team, including critical ones late in the game. Ataman accused the media of bias, claiming they unfairly label him as a poor coach while praising the referees. Prior to the game, Ataman had stated that home-court advantage would not be a factor if the officiating remained fair.
