Argyroupoleos Avenue opens in Nicosia after three-month delay
Argyroupoleos Avenue in Nicosia is scheduled to open to traffic on Thursday, June 4, at 11:00 am. The project, which has been a government priority for over two decades, was delivered with a three-month delay. The new three-kilometer road connects Tseriou Avenue with Independence Avenue, as well as the GSP stadium area and the Nicosia-Limassol highway to Strovolos and Lakatamia. The avenue consists of four lanes and aims to reduce traffic congestion at the entrances to the capital. Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeadis, will attend the opening ceremony. The project is considered complementary to the perimeter highway currently under construction. Local authorities expect the road to provide a significant alternative route, alleviating traffic for residents and professionals in the western part of Nicosia.
