Electricity Authority of Cyprus to continue smart meter installations in June

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has announced that the mass installation of smart meters will continue throughout June 2024. The project covers specific areas in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, and the Famagusta district. In Nicosia, work is scheduled for Strovolos and Lythrodontas. In Limassol, installations will take place in the area between the Limassol-Nicosia highway and the Amathountos and Vasileos Georgiou I avenues. Larnaca operations include the city center and Livadia village. The Famagusta area focuses on Paralimni, specifically near key roads such as 1st April Avenue and Stadiou Street. The replacement process necessitates temporary power outages, which are estimated to last no longer than 20 minutes per location. The authority confirms that these upgrades are part of a broader infrastructure project.
