Manchester City denies transfer rumors regarding Erling Haaland
On June 3, Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme claimed in a television interview that Erling Haaland would join the club if he were elected. During the appearance on 'El Hormiguero', Riquelme displayed a Real Madrid jersey featuring Haaland’s name and number, while also suggesting Rodri could join the team. Manchester City immediately refuted these statements, labeling them as false. The club clarified that no release clause exists in the player's contract that would facilitate such a move. Both Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, and his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, dismissed the claims as untrue. Manchester City expressed significant displeasure regarding the unauthorized use of the player's image for campaign purposes. The club is currently exploring potential legal actions against Riquelme for his public conduct. The representatives of the player wished both presidential candidates luck in the upcoming elections.
