Local officials and hoteliers discuss tourism development in Yeroskipou and Paphos
On June 5, 2026, the Mayor of Yeroskipou, Nikos Palios, met with the Cyprus Hotel Association (Pasyxe) to discuss strategies for improving the local tourism product and advancing development plans. Separately, representatives from the Paphos Municipality and Pasyxe Paphos held a meeting to coordinate improvements for the city's tourism competitiveness. During the Paphos meeting, hoteliers raised concerns regarding public cleanliness, aesthetics, and major infrastructure projects. A specific discussion was held regarding the construction of breakwaters, with hoteliers requesting that work schedules minimize disruption to the tourism season. Acting Mayor of Paphos, Angelos Onisiforou, emphasized the private sector's commitment to contributing to urban upgrades. Both municipalities and hotel associations agreed on the necessity of closer communication to boost the region's appeal.
