European Archaeology Days 2026 events at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation
The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation (BoCCF) in Faneromeni, Old Nicosia, will host events for European Archaeology Days 2026 under the theme 'Animals-Plants-Archaeology'. On June 12, 2026, at 19:30, a thematic tour of the 'Cyprus Insula' exhibition will explore the symbolism of flora and fauna in Cypriot material culture. This tour will be conducted by Zoe Makridou of Terra Cypria, in collaboration with curators Dr. Yiannis Toumazis and Demetra Ignatiou. Following the tour at 20:30, an outdoor documentary screening will present the history of the Cypriot cow, produced in collaboration with the Cyprus Institute. The screening will feature a post-film discussion with screenwriter Dr. Anna Spyrou. Participation in all events is free of charge, but advance reservations are required by calling 22128175 or 22128163. These initiatives aim to engage the public with the island's history, archaeology, and environmental sustainability.
