Proposed large-scale development project The Rocks in Pentakomo under review

The authorities in the Republic of Cyprus are currently reviewing a major investment project titled The Rocks, proposed by DRL5COMOS PROPERTIES LTD. Located in the Argaki tou Mavrou area of Pentakomo, Limassol district, the development occupies a 34,714-square-metre coastal plot along Poseidonos Avenue. The project is designed as a mixed-use complex featuring a 126-room hotel, 26 tourist villas, and 73 residential units, including 50 one-bedroom apartments, 20 two-bedroom units, and three luxury penthouses. The proposal includes reception facilities and various communal amenities intended to support the tourism and residential site. Concerns have been raised regarding the project's proximity to critical state and energy infrastructure, notably the Evangelos Florakis Naval Base in Mari. While proponents highlight the investment's economic potential for the Governor’s Beach area, the strategic location of the site remains a focal point for official review. The developer has submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment as part of the formal Master Plan approval process.
