Pancyprian access examinations begin for 2026

On June 8, 2026, 5,139 candidates began the Pancyprian access examinations, aiming for admission to public universities in Cyprus and Greece. The cohort consists of 4,798 high school seniors and 341 previous graduates. The process opened with the mandatory subject of Modern Greek, which lasted from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. across 54 examination centers. Notable statistics include 413 applicants seeking spots in military schools and 642 requests for special testing accommodations. Minister of Education Athena Michaelidou visited an examination center in Nicosia to offer support, emphasizing that these exams are a single step in a broader educational journey. According to the Head of the Examinations Service, Socrates Mylonas, the examination period will conclude on June 26, with official results expected between July 22 and 24. Health and safety measures, including the presence of air conditioning in all centers, were implemented for the second consecutive year.
