Pancyprian access examinations begin with modern greek language

The 2026 Pancyprian Access Examinations commenced on June 8, with 5,139 candidates sitting for the mandatory Modern Greek language exam. The cohort includes 4,798 final-year students and 341 previous graduates, with 413 students seeking admission to military schools. Candidates reported that the exam topics, centered on advertising and consumerism, were accessible and manageable compared to previous years. The Head of the Examination Service, Sokratis Mylonas, confirmed that the process proceeded smoothly with only minor procedural issues, such as missing identification documents. A record number of 642 candidates were granted special accommodations, the highest figure in the last seven years. The exam period will continue until June 26, covering various subjects including music, economics, and sciences. The Ministry of Education has released the exam papers to the public following the conclusion of the first day.
