Supreme Court invalidates police search warrant in Evrychou

The Supreme Court has invalidated part of a search warrant executed in February 2026 at a corporate premises in Evrychou. The case stemmed from an investigation into potential money laundering, following intelligence gathered between late 2024 and early 2025. Authorities were investigating financial transactions from 2017 to 2020, specifically looking into €744,000 in undocumented funding allegedly provided by the company director. The company challenged the warrant's clause allowing police to seize "anything else related to the investigated offenses," arguing it was overly broad and vague. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the company, determining that the warrant failed to provide a sufficiently specific description of items to be seized. Consequently, the court declared the seizure procedure associated with that clause unlawful.
