Yannick Gomis set to join AEL Limassol from Aris
Yannick Gomis, the 34-year-old Senegalese forward, has reached a full agreement to join AEL Limassol. The player is departing from Aris Limassol following the expiration of his contract, effectively ending a four-year tenure with the club. During his time at Aris, which began in the summer of 2022, Gomis made 142 appearances, scoring 41 goals and providing 18 assists, while helping the team secure a league championship and a Super Cup. His move to AEL is reportedly facilitated by Joel Damahu, who previously played a role in bringing the forward to Aris. While formal confirmation is still pending, the deal is considered near completion with only minor details remaining. Gomis is set to become AEL's second signing of the summer transfer window, following the acquisition of Jair Tavares. The club management aims to strengthen the squad to target a top-six finish and potentially European qualification.
