CNN report details alleged Israeli covert operations near Iran

According to a report by CNN, Israel maintained a network of secret military and intelligence sites in various Middle Eastern countries during the conflict with Iran. Four sources stated that Israeli special forces and Mossad agents were deployed in Azerbaijan, specifically in southern locations approximately 100 kilometers from the Iranian city of Tabriz. These units reportedly conducted intelligence gathering and drone operations to monitor northern Iranian territory. The report suggests these sites were part of a broader network that also included locations in Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, and Somaliland. While the facilities were originally designated as emergency personnel rescue points, they allegedly evolved into active intelligence and operational hubs.
