Omonia completes Polish training camp ahead of new season
Omonia has concluded its primary training stage in Poland, playing three friendlies against Dinamo Bucuresti (2-1), Hapoel Be'er Sheva (2-2), and Korona Kielce (0-0). Manager Henning Berg expressed optimism for the upcoming season, noting that while the team possesses a solid foundation, it must improve its creative efficiency. Following the departure of striker Ryan Mmaee and defender Alpha Diounkou, who joined Celje, the club is prioritizing the acquisition of a new center-forward and potentially another goalkeeper. Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho did not participate in any of the Polish friendlies, leading to speculation regarding his future at the club. Meanwhile, new signing Loic Nego is integrating into the squad as the team prepares for its first official matches starting on July 22. The club's leadership aims to build on last year's successes despite significant roster changes.
