34-year-old man arrested in Famagusta for drug trafficking

The Cyprus Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) arrested a 34-year-old man in the Famagusta district for the illegal importation and possession of narcotics. The operation was conducted following the collection and evaluation of intelligence regarding drug trafficking. Officers apprehended the suspect immediately after he collected a postal package containing 198 grams of cocaine. The individual is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court for a detention order hearing tomorrow. The suspect faces charges of illegal importation, possession, and possession with intent to supply to other parties. The Famagusta branch of YKAN continues to investigate the case.
