Fire destroys abandoned house in Paphos

A fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday at an abandoned house in the Mousalas area of Paphos, near the Paphos Metropolis. Emergency services were alerted between 5:46 a.m. and 6:10 a.m. The building, identified as the former family home of former First Lady Androulla Vassiliou, had been sold to a foreign national several years ago. While the property was officially abandoned, reports indicate that homeless individuals had been using it as temporary shelter. All occupants managed to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported. The fire caused extensive interior and exterior damage to the structure before firefighters could bring it under control.
