Abhijit Dipke leads anti-government protest in New Delhi
Abhijit Dipke, the 30-year-old founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, has arrived in New Delhi to lead a protest against the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party was established several weeks ago following remarks by the Chief Justice, who referred to young critics of the government as 'cockroaches' and 'parasites'. While the Chief Justice later claimed his comments were directed specifically at individuals with fake degrees, the remark sparked significant backlash. Dipke, a political communication student at Boston University, aims to demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protest follows widespread criticism of the Minister regarding a leaked entrance exam for medical schools held on May 3. These exams were subsequently canceled and rescheduled, leading to political instability in India. Dipke's movement, which gained millions of followers online, claims to represent the youth. Several of Dipke's social media accounts were blocked in India by government order prior to his return.
