Police rescue child held hostage in Ankara

A 3-year-old girl was rescued by special police forces in the Etimesgut district of Ankara, Turkey, following a hostage situation. The incident occurred in the Piyade neighborhood after an unidentified man engaged in a heated argument with his wife. During the dispute, the man seized his daughter and held her at knifepoint, at one point dangling her from a window. Neighbors alerted authorities, leading to the deployment of police, firefighters, and paramedics to the scene. Despite prolonged efforts by police negotiators, the suspect refused to surrender. Following the failed negotiations, special units conducted a surprise raid on the apartment to secure the child. The girl was rescued unharmed and placed under medical observation, while the suspect was apprehended and taken to a hospital.
