Olympiacos BC requests sanctions against Dimitris Giannakopoulos

On June 6, 2026, Olympiacos BC officially filed a complaint with the ESAKE Sports Judge regarding Dimitris Giannakopoulos, the owner of Panathinaikos BC. The club requested a two-year ban from all basketball arenas for Giannakopoulos, citing recidivism as an aggravating factor under the disciplinary code. Furthermore, Olympiacos BC has demanded a fine of 100,000 euros for Giannakopoulos himself. An additional fine of 100,000 euros was requested for Panathinaikos BC for the same reasons. The request is based on violations of the official disciplinary code governing the Greek basketball league.
