Recent rescue operations for swimmers in Limassol

On Sunday, June 7, 2026, at approximately 15:30, a 25-year-old man experienced a silent drowning incident at a beach in Limassol, near the Municipal Garden at area LEM0. Lifeguard units LEM0 and LEM15 responded to the scene, providing the victim with oxygen and initial medical care after he had been pulled from the water. Police and an ambulance crew arrived shortly thereafter to transport the individual to the hospital for further medical evaluation. In a separate incident reported last Thursday, a 14-year-old girl was rescued by lifeguards at the LEM10 area near the breakwaters. She had difficulty staying afloat due to wave conditions and sustained minor abrasions on her legs, which did not require hospitalization.
