Police in Cyprus report separate burglary cases involving multiple arrests
Cypriot authorities have reported two distinct crime series in Limassol and Nicosia. In Limassol, police arrested two individuals aged 23 and 39 after they were discovered at 3:15 p.m. in the backyard of an unoccupied house in Germasogeia, where stolen copper and equipment were found; the Limassol District Court remanded them for five days. Meanwhile, in Nicosia, a 17-year-old was arrested on June 6, 2026, for nine burglaries committed between May 28 and June 4, 2026. The teenager allegedly stole approximately 3,000 euros and caused 6,000 euros in property damage. During a search of his residence, police recovered evidence including a helmet and gloves. The youth reportedly confessed to the crimes and is scheduled to appear before the Nicosia District Court. Both investigations are being handled by local Criminal Investigation Departments (TAE).
