AEL Limassol completes record sale of Stephane Keller to Al-Ittihad
AEL Limassol has officially confirmed the permanent transfer of 24-year-old Cameroonian central defender Stephane Keller to the Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad. The transfer follows the activation of a purchase option by the Saudi side after an initial loan deal established in February. AEL received 500,000 euros for the loan and an additional 1,000,000 euros upon the finalization of the purchase, bringing the total value of the transaction to 1.5 million euros. This amount marks the largest player sale in the history of the Limassol-based club. Keller, who joined AEL last summer on a free transfer from Spanish club Alaves, made 21 official appearances for the team before moving to Saudi Arabia. The club stated that this agreement represents a significant milestone for the organization and a professional advancement for the player. Management intends to use the funds to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.
