Boat-shaped public libraries installed at Protaras beaches
The Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia has installed open-access boat-shaped libraries at two major beaches in Protaras: Vrysi Beach and Fig Tree Bay. These facilities allow visitors and residents to borrow books during their stay or donate their own books for others to read. The initiative is part of the municipality’s broader branding strategy for the area under the new 'Protaras Riviera' tourism identity. Each library unit features the official Protaras Riviera logo to align the project with local marketing efforts. According to municipal officials, the libraries serve as a point of interest, with many visitors sharing photographs of the structures on social media. The project aims to enhance the cultural and hospitality experience for beachgoers. The libraries are currently operational and open for public use.
