Green party leadership resigns following election defeat
On June 7, 2026, the expanded Central Committee of the Movement of Ecologists – Citizens' Cooperation held a meeting to evaluate recent parliamentary election results. During the session, the party leadership submitted their resignations. As a result, the party will hold an electoral congress in the autumn to elect new leadership. The committee established a special group to draft a five-year strategic action plan, which will be presented for approval at the next session. Additionally, an internal committee was formed to document the discussions held during this evaluation meeting. A new five-year financial plan was approved to address the loss of state funding, which stems from the party's failure to maintain parliamentary representation. These decisions were formally adopted at the conclusion of the June 7 meeting.
