Revelations concerning Intellexa and Predator surveillance software in Greece
New allegations have emerged regarding the use of Predator surveillance software in Greece, involving Israeli businessman Tal Dilian, the owner of Intellexa. According to a report by the newspaper To Vima, Dilian’s camp claims to possess a 2020 agreement signed with the Greek National Intelligence Service (EYP) for the use of the spyware. The document purportedly outlines the legal operation of the system, although it reportedly lacked the necessary institutional legal framework to be officially enacted. Beyond this agreement, reports indicate the existence of dozens of emails exchanged between Intellexa staff and Greek state officials, specifically EYP agents, regarding technical support and system management. Tal Dilian maintains that his company sold the software exclusively to governments and security agencies, asserting that Intellexa did not select the targets for surveillance. While the opposition is calling for a fresh investigation, the government faces renewed political pressure. The claims have also sparked interest in Cyprus due to the company's historical ties to the region.
