Neftchi Baku rejects APOEL bid for Breno Almeida

According to journalist Fuad Alakbarov, the Cypriot football club APOEL has made an official transfer bid for Brazilian winger Breno Almeida, currently playing for Neftchi Baku. The Azerbaijani club rejected the proposal, citing that the offered fee did not meet their valuation. Breno Almeida joined Neftchi Baku in early 2026. While one source indicates he was signed in January for approximately 200,000 euros, another report suggests the transfer from Ethnikos Achnas took place in February for over 100,000 euros. Since joining his current club, the player has recorded twelve appearances, three goals, and four assists. No further negotiations have been disclosed as of June 7, 2026. Additionally, reports indicate that the Azerbaijani first league side Jabrayil FK has been put up for sale for 1 million Azerbaijani manats, equivalent to approximately 440,000 pounds.
