AEL Limassol signs Papageorgiou and Kapino for the 2028 season
AEL Limassol has officially finalized two major transfers for the upcoming season, securing the signing of Cypriot forward Giorgos Papageorgiou and Greek goalkeeper Stefanos Kapino until 2028. Papageorgiou joins from Ethnikos Achnas, having previously played for Nea Salamina and Apollon Smyrnis, recording 34 appearances and 2 goals last season. The 32-year-old goalkeeper Stefanos Kapino, who previously played for FC Winterthur in Switzerland, was signed to fill the void left in the position. Kapino's contract is subject to successful medical examinations. Club spokesperson Nikolas Leventis confirmed that the team's budget will be slightly increased compared to last year. Additionally, the club is planning ten new transfers and has scheduled the start of their preparation for July 8, with a training camp in Poland set for August 1. Technical decisions regarding players like Makris and Papafotis indicate they are no longer in the coach's plans.
