Dimitris Limnios completes transfer from Panathinaikos to APOEL
APOEL and Panathinaikos have officially announced the transfer of 28-year-old Greek winger Dimitris Limnios to the Cypriot club. Limnios, who joined Panathinaikos in December 2023, recorded 30 appearances and one goal while helping the team win the 2024 Greek Cup. The financial details indicate that Panathinaikos covered half of the player's salary through his original 2027 contract expiration, while retaining a 20% resale clause. The player is expected in Cyprus in the coming days for medical examinations and the formal signing of the contract. APOEL manager Nikos Papadopoulos intends to utilize Limnios in a new defensive role, specifically as a right-back. This acquisition is part of a broader effort by APOEL to reorganize its squad following a difficult previous season. The move has been widely confirmed by official club statements from both sides involved.
