Cyprus expects 800 million euros in EU funding for internal affairs for 2028-2034

Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou announced that the Republic of Cyprus is projected to receive approximately 800 million euros for the 2028-2034 period. These funds are earmarked exclusively for migration, security, and border management. This announcement was made during the 4th meeting of the Monitoring Committees for Home Affairs Funds 2021-2027. Minister Ioannou emphasized the importance of these committees in overseeing the effective implementation of funding programs and the coordination of resource management. The Ministry's Directorate for European Funds remains focused on maximizing the absorption of available grants. Regarding the current 2021-2027 programming period, the European Commission has already approved 304 million euros for Cyprus. The Directorate continues to align its strategic planning with both national and European policies to ensure these financial resources are utilized optimally.
