Acting mayor of Paphos announces removal of unauthorized structures in Agios Antonios

On Friday morning, acting Mayor of Paphos Angelos Onisiforou conducted an on-site inspection in the Agios Antonios area alongside members of the Municipal Council, municipal officials, and the Paphos District Self-Government Organization. During the inspection, authorities identified illegal constructions, unauthorized interventions, and abandoned infrastructure that were deemed detrimental to the city's tourism image. Specific actions announced include the immediate removal of illegal pergolas and unauthorized structures, as well as the replacement of stone bollards with metal poles. The municipality also plans to undertake extensive cleaning and maintenance work in the area. A key priority is the restoration and reopening of public restrooms, which are currently occupied and non-functional. Additionally, the project includes the replacement of existing lighting with modern poles and fixtures to improve public safety and functionality. Mayor Onisiforou stated that these enforcement measures aim to return public space to the community and ensure strict adherence to municipal regulations.
