Seven-year-old boy dies after monkey attack in Thailand
A 7-year-old boy named Ekarat Srichan died after being attacked by a pet monkey at his home in Thailand last Saturday. The animal, which the child's grandfather had rescued and kept as an unregistered pet since 2022, was tethered to a bamboo pole with a rope. During the incident, the monkey bit the boy on his leg and right chest. According to the mother, the injury to the chest pierced her son's lung, resulting in fatal trauma. Neighbors and relatives reported that the animal had shown prior signs of aggression, including an earlier attack on a stray cat. The family lacked the required legal documentation to keep the primate in their home. The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
