25-year-old woman arrested in Ayia Napa for illegal nitrous oxide possession

Police in Ayia Napa arrested a 25-year-old woman shortly after midnight following the discovery of controlled substances. During a patrol, officers from the Famagusta OPE unit found her in possession of 64 unused nitrous oxide capsules, a metal canister, 68 balloons, and 100 euros in cash. The suspect was arrested for the illegal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to supply. Subsequent identity checks revealed that she is residing illegally within the territory of the Republic of Cyprus. The woman remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Famagusta District Court today for the direct filing of charges. The Ayia Napa Police Station is conducting the ongoing investigation into the matter.
