Wholomics presents preliminary data on new cancer detection blood test
The Austrian biotechnology company Wholomics presented data regarding a new blood test at the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting in Chicago. The developers claim the test can identify up to 95% of early-stage tumors across 13 different types of cancer. This research is based on data collected from approximately 1,400 participants. The scientific community has reacted with both interest and caution, as the study has not yet undergone independent peer review. Furthermore, there is currently no evidence demonstrating that early detection via this method results in increased patient survival rates or reduced mortality. The announcement follows years of significant global investment in diagnostic oncology. The findings are currently considered preliminary and require further validation.
