Infrastructure upgrades announced for Limassol water supply and network
The Limassol District Self-Government Organization (EOA) is currently managing several infrastructure projects to improve water supply. Existing water reservoirs are being serviced following their construction, while plans are underway to build six new Glass Lined Steel reservoirs with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters each in the areas of Agios Athanasios and Fasoula. Additionally, a major project to replace 100 kilometers of water network pipes in central Limassol has been officially signed. This project carries a budget of 9.2 million euros and is expected to take two years to complete. The construction work will cover the area from Enaerios to the Central Fire Station, extending down to Gladstonos and Anexartisias streets. Authorities stated that the project will focus on sidewalks to minimize traffic disruptions, with coordination planned alongside the municipality to avoid duplicate road works. These initiatives aim to ensure the continuous supply of high-quality drinking water for residential and industrial consumers in the district.
