Nicosia Criminal Court postpones Central Prisons document case

The Nicosia Criminal Court has postponed the case regarding Central Prisons documents to June 12. The postponement occurred because the Prosecution failed to provide all necessary documents required to determine if they fall under the exceptions of Article 7(4) of the Criminal Procedure Law. Prosecutor Anna Matthaiou reported that out of 2,900 disputed documents, 1,116 were handed over intact and 1,344 were provided after personal data redaction. A remaining 440 documents, including prison maps, designs, and USB drives containing attorney-client communications, have not yet been submitted. The process was stalled during the hearing when it was discovered that the Police had not transported all requested materials to the court. Consequently, the legal arguments scheduled for this session could not proceed. The Prosecution has requested additional time to fulfill the court's requirements.
