Investor Chris Panagiotou departs AEL Limassol football club

Investor Chris Panagiotou has officially announced his departure from the AEL Limassol football club. During a recent General Assembly, AEL president Konstantinos Konstantinou stated that the cooperation ended because Panagiotou failed to pay the agreed-upon funds. Conversely, Panagiotou disputes this, claiming he contributed several hundred thousand euros to the club's treasury. He asserts that his withdrawal is due to a fundamental disagreement with the board regarding the club's philosophy and management. Panagiotou argued that the club failed to honor commitments to prioritize financial discipline and develop a long-term plan centered on academy players. He criticized the club's current focus on short-term decisions. Following his exit, Andrew Boudjinski remains as the sole external financial partner, holding 20% of AEL FC LTD shares, while the sports association retains the remaining 80%.
