Limassol hosts the first community engagement symposium of the transformed project
The city of Limassol hosted the two-day 1st Community Engagement Symposium as part of the TRANSFORMED project. The event was organized by the Cultural Movement of Limassol "EPILOGI" and gathered representatives from Cyprus, Greece, Italy, and Lebanon. Participants included local authorities, academics, civil society members, and migrant community representatives. The project, coordinated by the Anna Lindh Foundation and co-funded by the EU’s Interreg NEXT MED Programme, aims to foster cooperation between municipalities and citizens. Key discussions focused on social inclusion, youth participation, gender equality, and migrant integration. During the symposium, attendees shared best practices and tools for designing public policies that address real community needs. Limassol Mayor Yiannis Armeftis attended the event and announced the reactivation of the Municipality’s Intercultural Council. The symposium also featured insights from local authorities in Italy and Lebanon regarding participatory governance.
