Double homicide investigation underway in Aigio
A 65-year-old Italian man has been arrested and charged with the double homicide of his 54-year-old partner and her 26-year-old son, Olympios, in Longos, Aigialeia. The bodies were discovered after the suspect allegedly called a neighbor for help. Forensic evidence indicates the 26-year-old was shot in the temple with a flobert-type firearm and suffered multiple stab wounds, while the mother showed signs of defensive struggle. Authorities found no signs of forced entry, suggesting the perpetrator was known to the victims. Police recovered potentially blood-stained clothing and a mobile phone linked to the crime, while the suspect remains in custody and denies all involvement. Investigations suggest the conflict may have originated from personal or financial disputes regarding the sale of family property. The funeral for the two victims was recently held at the Church of Saint Demetrios.
