Debate over youth infrastructure and delinquency in Chloraka

Recent incidents of youth delinquency in Chloraka have prompted local organizations to advocate for new community spaces. Lakis Christodoulou, head of SKE Chloraka, has formally proposed renovating the former 'MIXIOS' building to create a creative activity center for youth. Meanwhile, Andreas Kyriakou, president of the Cultural-Environmental Club of Chloraka (PPOX), argues for the conversion of the former Cooperative building into a cultural center and youth hub. Kyriakou notes that a previous proposal by his organization to use the former Cooperative building was rejected by local authorities due to unclear ownership status and conflicting development plans. Currently, the PPOX and the Folkloric Club lack a permanent facility, forcing the PPOX to host activities at the Paphos House of Arts and Letters. Both community leaders link the lack of proper local infrastructure to the rise in youth delinquency. The SKE is prepared to operate the proposed youth center should the authorities approve the use of the former 'MIXIOS' site.
