Four individuals referred to court in Nicosia for drug and firearm offenses

Four men aged 25, 31, 34, and 45 appeared before the Nicosia District Court regarding charges of drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms and explosives. The case has been referred to the Permanent Assize Court of Nicosia, with the first hearing scheduled for October 9, 2026. Three of the suspects remain in custody, while the 45-year-old was released under conditions to ensure his future appearance. The investigation began on May 23 when police intercepted two men, aged 25 and 34, in Aglantzia with 20 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of dry plant matter, and a digital scale. Subsequent searches at the 25-year-old's residence led to the seizure of six handguns, 299 bullets, and additional narcotics. The 45-year-old and 31-year-old suspects were apprehended separately on May 29 and May 31. The Nicosia Drug Law Enforcement Unit and the Criminal Investigation Department are handling the respective charges.
