New film screening and youth festival events scheduled in Cyprus

The short film 'Bloody Scores', directed by Rafail Nikolaos Loukataris, will be screened in Cyprus on June 14 in Limassol at Capital Center Square and on June 15 in Nicosia at 'To Politistiko' cafe. The film is inspired by the Tempi railway accident and follows a young man named Giorgos who struggles with his father to pursue music before facing a fateful conflict. The director will attend both screenings for a post-film discussion on collective memory and social justice. Separately, the 52nd KNE-Odigitis Festival will be held in Nicosia on June 13 at Eleftheria Square. This marks the first time the festival has traveled to Cyprus in its 52-year history. The event will feature a political speech by KKE Central Committee member Nikos Zacharopoulos, followed by concerts by NOFRENO and XIKKO SOU. The venue will also host an exhibition on war, a bookstore, and a play area, with the organization calling for broad public participation.
